Hitchin, along with the rest of Hertfordshire, moved from Tier 2 to Tier 3 of the government’s COVID-19 pandemic response with effect from 00:01 Saturday 19 December 2020.
Organised outdoor rugby activity with approved adaptations for both match play and training is permitted across all three tiers.
However, it is extremely important that clubs, players, coaches, match officials, volunteers, parents, carers and facility providers continue to strictly follow both the UK Government's latest guidance on COVID-19 and RFU guidance to ensure we can continue our phased return to play. In particular spectators are NOT allowed at club games or training.
M&Y Training
Because spectators are not permitted in Tier 3 and because people cannot travel out of Tier 3 areas into a lower Tier areas, to remove any element of risk to our members and community all M&Y training is cancelled this weekend.
If HERTS are still in Tier 3 in the new year there is supporting guidance from the RFU that 'Age Grade players can be accompanied by ONE parent or carer to train or play in a Tier 3 area'. Therefore in the new year, we will be able to return to training if we're still in Tier 3 following the strict appropriate restrictions.
