.Today (Saturday 17 July 2021) marks the end of an era: Bob and Hazel Newbury, long time members and tireless servants of the club are upping sticks and retiring to the the warmer and sunnier climes of the South West. Sidmouth to be precise.
I am sure they will no doubt enjoy not only the surroundings, but also the rather excellent annual folk festival.
In these strange times we have not been able to celebrate their contribution to the club in the manner that we would like, so instead I hope that they will both join us at the first VP lunch of next season as the club's honoured guests, so that we are able to say thank you properly.
In the meantime, I would like to extend the gratitude of the whole club to them both for their years of service.
It will seem very strange not seeing them either at KGV or in the town.
We wish them all the very best in the fulfilment of their long planned move to the West Country.
We know where they are, and we will be in touch :-)
