RUGBY LEAGUE CHALLENGE CUP
North Herts Crusaders are making their debut in Rugby League's oldest and most prestigious competition, the Challenge Cup. They play the RAF in the first round on Sunday 27 January 2019 at Hitchin Rugby Club's KGV grounds.
Rugby League has been regarded mainly as a northern sport, but clubs like Crusaders are making waves in promoting the sport in the South of the country. Off the back of a very successful 2018 season, this year sees them enter the Challenge Cup and with it the opportunity to test themselves against more established Rugby League clubs.
Crusaders Chairman Ollie Adams invites Rugby Union fans to come and see what all the fuss is about, he said “Rugby League is a truly underrated sport in the south, the physicality of the sport is immense and it’s a really quick, hard-hitting sport. The togetherness of our club is amazing, drawing on players from clubs across North Herts, we have a true family feel. We’d love to really showcase the club, the sport and the atmosphere with the Challenge Cup game”
The game kicks off at 1.00pm on Sunday 27 Jan. The Hitchin Rugby Club clubhouse and bar will be open for supporters and spectators. We’re anticipating a big crowd so try and get down early!
