The RFU is waiting for further information from government in regard to what the latest Tier 4 measures, announced by the Prime Minister yesterday, will mean for rugby training and friendly fixtures that are scheduled for Sunday 20 December and afterwards.
The government has advised the new strain of Covid is 70% more transmissible and extra caution should be taken.
M&Y Training
M&Y Training had already been cancelled this weekend before yesterday's announcement.
Senior Sections Training
At this stage and until further guidance is received, the RFU recommends that clubs in Tier 4 areas should consider cancelling training or fixtures.
Due to the large number of adults required to run training sessions, the most sensible option in Tier 4 areas is to postpone planned rugby activity until further guidance is available from the government.
Therefore, any and all training this week is cancelled
