Old SODs

As the club was giving consideration to its forthcoming 50th season, it was agreed that it should attract as many former members as possible to participate in the celebrations. Especially former captains, players and officers of the club with whom it had lost touch.

It was known that Wasps had an 'Old SODs' section and this seemed an appropriate means of encouraging former members to enjoy an annual social occasion, together with players of their day.

The first O.S. supper was held on 8th February 2002 with 48 present and continues with the next due on Friday 1 February 2008.

The only guidance rule applying, but far from rigorously interpreted, is that an Old Sod has something like a 25 year association with the club and is prepared to pay a subscription of 1p/point scored by the 1st XV the previous season. It will be £5 for the 2006/7 season.

This sum allows the club to keep in touch with the 125 Old Sods now on the mailing list. Of course, any OS wishing in addition to apply for another grade of club membership is most welcome to do so.
